in what we assume is New York with her Mackage trench coat and sensible workwear get-up. But thanks to photos that debuted on EW last week from a shoot day at the Santa Monica Pier (as pictured above), we got a peek at scenes with Ken Marino and Kristen Bell. Seeing Vinnie automatically made us channel his version of Hall and Oates' "Private Eyes", but we couldn't keep our eyes off--GASP--the return of her signature studded bag?!
Veronica Mars and her favorite purse.

Now, Veronica Mars stans know she carried the same
oversized, black studded number in basically every episode from season
3. From super sleuthing to breaking up with Logan (NOOOOOOOOO) to
sitting in the Hearst cafeteria eating capellini from Spaghetti Western
(but seriously, why didn’t she EVER put the bag down? Was it to keep Mr.
Sparky close?), she was never spotted without that bad boy. We needed
to get to the bottom of this possible purse resurgence, so we did some
sleuthing of our own. VMM costume designer Genevieve Tyrrell
was kind enough to take a few minutes to talk with us straight from the
set so we could get to the bottom of the case. She confirmed that it
is, in fact, the exact bag from season 3. The Nordstrom label purse is
100% leather with brass studs and was purchased by Sal Perez,
the original costume designer for the series. But guys, here's a tiny
movie scoop. We asked Genevieve why Veronica would still be carrying the
same bag from college, and she told us that Veronica discovers the bag
in a box of gear at the Mars' home. OooOOhh, but what does it all mean?Photo: Courtesy of Warner Bros.
So, we don't know any more than that, but back to the outfit she was wearing for her reunion with Vinnie, Veronica paired her signature bag with a super chic leather sleeve Helmut Lang jacket, Bebe colorblocked sweater, black J Brand skinnies (which, according to Genevieve, are her "go-to" pair), and Rag & Bone Classic Newbury black booties. We love that she mixed her all-black New York look with a dash of Neptune (thanks to the studded bag!), and we may just cop this ensemble for ourselves. *makes mental note for fall wardrobe* Even though the original bag is long gone from shelves, we totally found a killer recreation on Etsy that you can swipe right this instant. We can't WAIT to peep more photos from the set while there are still shoot days left, but until then we'll keep watching this on repeat. HEAR THE BELLS.
