Cory Michael Smith has been cast as The Riddler in the upcoming Batman prequel, Gotham.
The relative newcomer will appear in the Fox drama's pilot episode as Edward Nygma - a 'brilliant but socially awkward forensic scientist' destined to become the supervillain - while reports suggest he may be upgraded to a series regular.
The hunky actor confirmed the exciting news via his Facebook fan page after it was first reported by Deadline.com on Tuesday.

Thirteen-year-old David Mazouz takes on the role of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, though producers have been quick to confirm that the series will centre on Gordon and not the young Batman-in-the-making.
