Jerry Hall's LAST shoot before she cut her hair: TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK's Give Up Clothes for Good campaign

  • Before she cut it, Jerry put her old hair-do to good use in charity shoot
  • Worn the same style for decades until finally deciding it was time to change
  • Model and actress was photographed as part of campaign to raise funds for childhood cancers
Jerry Hall shocked the world last week when she impulsively lopped off her trademark long blonde wavy hair, having never veered from the style throughout her 40-year-career.
But she certainly put her old hair-do to good use before she chopped it, posing for a campaign to raise money for charity.
The supermodel and actress, 57, still has has her iconic side-swept longer style in this shoot which is in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Jerry is helping to launch Give Up Clothes for Good, the UK’s largest and longest running charity clothing collection, which sees the cancer charity team up with retailer, TK Maxx to raise funds for the treatment and cure of childhood cancers.

Photographed by world famous photographer, Jason Bell, a long term supporter of Give Up Clothes for Good, Jerry is seen reclining on a chair in her boudoir in a stunning floor length sheer black gown, embellished with thousands of beads.
Presumably unaware this would be the last time she would be photographed with her long golden hair, the mother-of-four looks seriously chic with bright red lips and a pair of sunglasses dangling nonchalantly from one hand.
Scattered around her are the remnants of a wardrobe clear out, with a bulging bag of clothes by her  bed, ready to donate.
And of course, her now absent long blonde hair is swept over to the side and hanging down over one shoulder.
Jerry chopped off her super-long mane on the spur of the moment during a Loreal photoshoot last week, posting a photo on Twitter with the message: '#Surprise !! .. I have cut off my long locks and got the short “Lob” haircut. Thanks to the @lorealpro team!'
A spokesperson told MailOnline: 'It wasn’t planned. [Jerry] made an impulsive decision during a photo shoot with L’OrĂ©al Professionnel.'

Jerry has said of her hair style: 'My mother and my sisters - five girls - were crazy about glamour and Hollywood movies. I styled myself on Veronica Lake and Marlene Dietrich.'
Speaking about fronting the Give Up Clothes for Good campain Jerry says: 'I am absolutely honoured to be part of Give Up Clothes for Good. More children than ever are now surviving cancer thanks to the work of Cancer Research UK but it is still the leading cause of death in children.
'So please support Give Up Clothes for Good and drop off a bag of clothing at your local TK Maxx store. Remember, you can now donate all year round.'
Since 2004, Give Up Clothes for Good has raised £13.5 million for Cancer Research UK, with over £9m for research into children’s cancers, helping the 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Jools Tait, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Cancer Research UK, said: 'In the 1960s, only around one in four children with cancer were cured. Today that figure is, three in four thanks to research. With your help we hope to make it four in four.  '
Give Up Clothes for Good launches in store from mid-February. Look out for the special clothing bins where you can drop your bags all year round. For more information visit www.tkmaxx.com.
Donation bags will be available in store from mid-February but any bag will do.  The clothes donated will be sold in Cancer Research UK shops with all the money raised going to help fund research into childhood cancers.
