Manchester City maintained their 100% start to their Premier League title defence by beating Liverpool.
City went ahead when Stevan Jovetic capitalised on a defensive error from Liverpool debutant Alberto Moreno and blasted a low shot past Simon Mignolet.
Jovetic grabbed his second, from Samir Nasri’s pull-back, before Sergio Aguero converted after Jesus Navas’s pass.
The Reds, with £16m new signing Mario Balotelli watching on, pulled one back with Pablo Zabaleta’s late own goal.
